# Glossary

Terms used across these docs, with the page that covers each in depth.

| Term | Meaning | Where |
| ----------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| App / tenant | A registered game or platform module: one row in the app registry, one `app_id`, its own isolated data. | [Roles and permissions](/architecture-and-trust/users-and-actors.md) |
| Archetype | The trust level assigned to an app at registration (`system`, `friend_of_system`, or `external`); decides which door its clients use and what it can reach. | [Roles and permissions](/architecture-and-trust/users-and-actors.md) |
| Door | The entry path a client uses: the game door (through the edge gateway) or the platform door (direct to the engine). | [Integration Overview](/evaluate-and-integrate/integration-overview.md) |
| Edge gateway | The proxy external game clients go through; holds the app secret server-side so the client never sees it. | [Integration Overview](/evaluate-and-integrate/integration-overview.md) |
| Game engine | The per-game engine that runs each tenant's own local economy, quests, and content. | [Architecture Overview](/architecture-and-trust/product-overview.md) |
| Hub | The platform-wide authority for player identity, the app registry, and the shared balance. | [Architecture Overview](/architecture-and-trust/product-overview.md) |
| GG (Global Gold/Gems) | The platform currency, held on the shared balance. A player receives it through a platform-owned bridge quest that reacts to a reported milestone; a game cannot mint, credit, read, or move it. | [Local and Shared Economies](/core-concepts/shared-economy.md) |
| Loyalty points | A second platform currency, credited like GG through platform-owned quests such as a daily login reward; it is spent only through platform-operated workflows such as burning and badge upgrades, not by a game. | [Local and Shared Economies](/core-concepts/shared-economy.md) |
| Loyalty tier | A player's standing (base, Bronze, Silver, Gold), computed live from the loyalty-points balance; platform-owned. | [Local and Shared Economies](/core-concepts/shared-economy.md) |
| Badge | A platform-owned collectible flag earned by reaching a tier, or upgraded from Gold to Platinum by spending points; changes happen only through platform-operated workflows, not by a game. | [Local and Shared Economies](/core-concepts/shared-economy.md) |
| Meta App | The first-party portal client that lets a player move between a platform home screen and individual games under one login. | [Architecture Overview](/architecture-and-trust/product-overview.md) |
| Pool / slot / cartridge | The delivery layer: a pool holds slots, a slot holds one baked content instance, and the pair `(slotId, itemSlug)` is its stable address across refreshes. | [HTTP API](/evaluate-and-integrate/api-guide.md) |
| Package | The reward abstraction: grant, store, open, fulfill. A one-shot delivery. | [Rewards and Inventory](/core-concepts/rewards-and-inventory.md) |
| Bundle | A refillable store of consumable charges with a regeneration rule, as opposed to a package's one-shot delivery. | [Resources and Quotas](/core-concepts/resources-and-quotas.md) |
| Listing | A player-created, one-shot sale of an owned item, priced by the seller and escrowed at listing time; scoped to one game. | [Marketplace Workflows](/use-cases/marketplace.md) |
| Scope | How an action or resource writes its value: `target` (a named entity), `root` (account-wide), or `none`. | [App Configuration](/evaluate-and-integrate/app-configuration.md) |
| Connected games | Several games one studio runs on the platform, sharing player identity, the platform currency, and loyalty standing. | [Local and Shared Economies](/core-concepts/shared-economy.md) |
